1.5.4 Feature Release (Feb 2nd, 2021)

Mailster v.1.5.4 brings several new features, improvements and bug fixes.

Features

  • Introduce new text variables {orig_to} and {orig_cc} to include original TO and CC addressees in the email content (header or footer text)
  • Add permissions for managing subscribers: individual and via group (two separate permissions)
  • Add permissions for CSV import / export

Improvements

  • Blocked users are not part of recipients anymore and are not shown in admin UI for adding as recipients
  • For sender control checking consider @GMAIL.COM and @GOOGLEMAIL.COM the same

Fixes

  • Display correct thread title in frontend archive
  • Show profile shortcode dialog also if only unsubscription is allowed
  • Fix timezone issues
  • Fix MIME encoding issue (multiple CC addresses)

1.5.3 Bugfix Release (17.02.2019)

Mailster v.1.5.3 was released to fix several bugs.

Improvements

  • Frontend chronological and thread view can be filtered by mailing list (by user), this is a new option in the menu settings

Fixes

  • Newly added list recipients immediately show up (updating cached recipients)
  • Users can only have access to active mailing lists in frontend
  • Shorten too long mail references, avoid from queue filling up with garbage
  • Copied mailing list can retrieve emails ("lists only not checked since" als allow never checked lists to be checked)
  • Compatibility MySQL improved (Fix: for MySQL NO_ZERO_DATE to insert fwd_completed as NULL and not 0000-00-00 00:00:00)
  • CB Plugin: sync works when admin edits other users' profilesModeration mode checkbox options can be unchecked

1.5.2 Bugfix Release (20.08.2019)

Mailster v.1.5.2 was released to optimize performance and fix several bugs.

Improvements

  • Cronjob optimization for the "all" execution mode. Avoids sending delays for installations with many lists.
  • Enable to sleep only 0.1 or 0.5 seconds with the "wait between the sending of two mails" functionality to allow for more reasonable performance while adhering to limits (e.g. Siteground not allowing more than 10 emails per second)
  • Show charset conversion functionality missing in system diagnosis
  • Warn user if the system requirements are not met in regards to the charset conversion functionality (iconv or mb_convert_encoding is required)

Fixes

  • Moderation mode checkbox options can be unchecked
  • Do not send out "your email is no forwarded" notifications when the sender does have an empty email address
  • Fix for "keep original header" setting for multiple CC addresses - put all of them in one header, not multiple CC headers
  • Do not send <> as the sender of notification emails
  • Avoid some unnecessary PHP warnings

1.5.1 Bugfix Release (27.12.2018)

Mailster v.1.5.1 is a release that optimizes usability and performance and fixes several issues.

Improvements

  • Subscriber Module only shows options for subscribe form when this type of module was chosen (and unsubscribe respectively)
  • Database optimization to allow for quicker searches
  • CB Plugin: dynamic settings show/hide
  • Remove "insert sender email for empty FROM name" setting
  • Remove "Tag with Mailster Email header setting" (will always be done)

Fixes

  • Joomla users can be deleted by admin again (subscription log does not stop crash process)
  • Fix issue when opening up thread detail view
  • Fix for raw cases where email headers cannot be retrieved in first try
  • No deprecated notice on digest edit screen

1.5.0 Feature Release (25.05.2018)

Most of the new features come from the motivation to support our users to run their mailing lists in a GDPR compliant way.

Features

  • Subscription log in which subcription/unsubscription actions are recorded for audit purposes
  • Subscription log can be exported to CSV file
  • Essential, Business, Ultimate Edition: Email archive Retention period ("keep emails for X days") can be defined
  • Essential, Business, Ultimate Edition: new setting to enable Opt-In / Opt-Out confirmations for admin actions (only for actions related to list-to-user-relationships, not working for adding/removing whole groups)
  • Subscription Module and Plugin: new option to require a terms of service acceptance before subscription

Improvements

  • Remove CC addressing mode in order to avoid undesired side effects
  • No plugin execution during Joomla update
  • Warn when SSL or TSL is used  in active ingoing/outgoing server and no OpenSSL extension is found
  • Compatible with Joomla 3.9

Fixes

  • If external jQuery import is needed, load it via HTTPS
  • Do not override mail subject when no thread subject is found
  • CB Plugin: User Status Sync via User Group works when no mailing list is used
  • Add missing language texts
